Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County, Ohio is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry dedicated to providing homes and hope to Wayne County families who may not qualify for a traditional mortgage but dream of owning their own home. Habitat builds homes at reduced cost to families with limited incomes who are willing to partner with the Habitat Community contributing their own “sweat equity” in the building of homes for themselves and for others. Homes are sold with no-interest loans to families who complete the Habitat partnership requirements.

What We Do

Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County builds decent affordable homes for hard working families willing to partner with us and the community. We require 300 hours of "sweat equity", financial education and counseling and home ownership classes, providing all the "tools" necessary to make sure families are prepared to handle the expense and responsibility of owning a home. Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County operates the Wayne Habitat ReStore. The ReStore is open to the public providing low-cost home-improvement materials to Wayne County making Habitat's goal of "safe and secure housing" accessible to more than just partner families. ReStore sales allow Habitat to purchase more materials and build more homes.
