We are looking for volunteers for our sports programs. We have needs for referees, coaches, score keepers, umpires, refs, concessions, Sports Committee members etc. Our Sports leagues have participants from all over Wayne County.

Throughout the year we run flag football, tackle football, wrestling, golf, track, volleyball, cheerleading, baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer.

While expertise is nice it is not necessary,we are happy to train =). Location will vary.

We are looking for Board or committee members to serve our board or to participate in a supporting role. For example, our sports committee is made up of board and community members. Our organization serves students from all over Wayne County. Our before and after school programs serve Triway, Rittman, Orrville, Dalton, Smithville, and Waynedale schools. We are looking for Board members in all of these communities. We are also looking for people that may not want to join the board fully but would like to help with events like our auction.

Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs to community audiences. Community Educators:

Deliver approximately 12 presentations (in person or virtually) annually using prepared Alzheimer’s Association consumer education programs on a variety of care and support topics.
Collaborate with local Association staff to expand programs by securing community partners, scheduling presentations, delivering the programs, and managing needed materials.
Serve as presenter for chapter-scheduled education programs and conferences.
Connect people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities by proactively making referrals to Alzheimer's Association programs & free 24/7 Helpline.

Support Group Facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. Support Group Facilitators:

Facilitate groups of caregivers or people living with dementia to provide social and educational support helping group members provide emotional support to one another.
Present pertinent Association materials and information to group members and assure a positive experience for attendees.
Connect people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities by proactively making referrals to Alzheimer's Association programs & free 24/7 Helpline.

Need help in creating and resizing costumes for various shows throughout the year. 

Someone who can assist us in a few tasks/problem solving on Quickbooks.  

We are looking for people to help us build sets for our shows.  Flexible hours!  Can even work from home in some cases. 

We need someone who is occasionally willing to do some projects around the arts center including pressure washing, hanging pictures, painting walls, and hanging other equipment.  Flexible hours!  Come when you can...do the projects that suit you!

The Salvation Army's On-Site meal program directly meets the needs of low income individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity in the home.

Assist agency with marketing needs related to material distribution and community knowledge around agency and understanding of services offered.

Assist in outreach for donations for agency community closets, stocking of supplies, thank you cards to donors, and ideas for products to include for both children and adults.

The volunteer with work with the tobacco health educator from the Holmes County General Health District to visit stores that sell tobacco in Holmes County to complete compliance checks. These checks are to ensure that tobacco products are not being sold to individuals under 21 years of age.

Writing for Wellness is a group experience focused on creative writing as a part of mental health recovery. The group is offered at NAMI's office the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6 PM. Typical group size is 5-12 participants. There are 2 facilitators for each group, so you would not be leading the group solo.

As a group facilitator, you would be responsible for developing content and exercises to prompt the participants. You would facilitate the group from 6-7:30 PM, making sure participants are reminded of confidentiality and feel encouraged and positive. 

If you have a passion for writing and mental health, as well as group facilitation skills, this is a great fit. Training and support from NAMI staff is provided.

NAMI provides family support and education to people affected by mental health symptoms. 

This position is focused on facilitating a monthly family support group in Holmes County. The family support group model exists in Wayne County, but this will be our first attempt at reaching participants in Holmes County. The group is offered the third Monday of each month from 6:30-8 pm at Danbury Senior Living in Millersburg

Anticipated participation is 10-15 people per group, with 2 facilitators present.

Training, materials and support will be provided to facilitators by NAMI.

Scanning old photos and documents to store them digitally.

We have several fundraising events and projects throughout the year and need many hands to make them successful.

Do you want to make a difference in improving mental health care for people in the community?  The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties is the largest local mental health care provider.  We provide crisis services, mobile youth crisis, psychiatry and counseling for youth and adults, as well as case management and residential mental health care.  We have recently transitioned to a new executive team this past year and are looking forward to growing and providing increased access to care and quality services.

If you live or work in Wayne or Holmes Counties, we are looking to recruit two new members for our Board of Directors beginning in fall of 2023.  We are looking for collaborative leaders with backgrounds in business, healthcare, accounting, legal, marketing, or sales. We look forward to hearing from you!

The Children's Advocacy Center serves Wayne, Holmes and Ashland County areas and is searching for two to three Holmes County residents to serve on the Board of Directors.  The Children's Advocacy Center was established in 2004 and was developed as a safe place for sexually abused children to safely share their story, receive a medical exam, and obtain a mental health screening so they could begin their road to recovery after experiencing a traumatic event. STRIVE Mentoring links youth (ages 10-17) identified by Wayne County Juvenile Court with a caring adult who serves as a supportive individual and helps youth deal with various life challenges.

We are seeking volunteer mentors to be matched with a youth in Wayne County. Males are paired with males, and females are paired with females.

Volunteers are provided with training, gas cards, and opportunities for reimbursement for activities with their mentee. The program coordinator plans a monthly group event for all the mentors and mentees together.

When our students experience hard times or have leave from school for an extended period of time, we like to provide them with a home-cooked meal. 

Meals need to be pre-cooked, placed in freezer safe storage container with the date made and re-heating instructions secured to the outside of the container.

This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services department. Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. DAT Members participate in all DAT program support and capacity building activities necessary to ensure effective service delivery during a DAT response.

Minimum on-call shift requirement is equivilent to 24 hours per month and is scheduled based on personal availability. Shift length varies by territory: 2x 12 hrs shift; 4x 6 hrs shift, etc.

Volunteers are highly encouraged to sign up for more shifts to ensure coverage, strong personal engagement and gain valuable learning experiences. Volunteers commit to being available during registered shifts and communicates availability conflicts with DAT Leadership. 

When a call comes in, volunteers are expected to work as part of an assigned team to respond to local disasters within two hours; delivering immediate direct client assistance with support of on-scene lead to assess additional resource/support needs.

This position supports the Regional Biomedical Services department. This opportunity requires participation in in-person activities and/or performing work in a Red Cross facility. The purpose of the Blood Donor Ambassador is to provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience. Engage with blood donors to promote blood donation and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations. Assist donors with re-hydrating after donation and observe for post-donation reactions. Express gratitude and ensure each blood donor is sincerely thanked for their donation.

Preferably 3-6 months, renewable each year

Variable; preferred commitment: 1+ shift/month, average shift is 4-6 hours

The majority of blood drives typically run M-F 8am-7pm; with shifts a minimum of 4 hours; Intermittent weekend drives available

Must have own transportation and willingness to travel throughout county of residence and/or adjacent communities
