Description: The Western Illinois Regional Council is an organization that provides technical assistance to local governments and elected officials facing complex community and economic development issues. The Agency is the parent organization to the WIRC-Community Action Agency, further broadening the scope of assistance to include human services for income eligible residents in a four county area. In addition, the WIRC-CAA provides a comprehensive list of services to those experiencing domestic and sexual violence in their lives through its Victim Services Program. The Agency also administers a Regional Recycling Facility for the collection of unwanted electronics and paint. Township cleanups are conducted throughout the late spring and into the fall, in addition to educational programs and events regarding recycling are undertaken. Mission Statement: To provide a variety of services and assistance, through programs administered, to the units of government and residents of the western Illinois region.
