Description: The McDonough County Chapter of the American Red Cross services population of 32,913 in a 590 square miles area including Macomb, the County Seat, and several small towns. We save lives and ease suffering by providing relief to those affected by disasters and help people to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross provides food, clothing, shelter and other necessities to those in need, remaining as long as a recovery takes. We are active in the communities before disasters strike, teaching people how to prepare for disasters. Mission Statement: The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
