Description:  Carl Sandburg College Literacy Coalition provides educational opportunities to adults who have literacy skills below 9th grade who wish to improve their reading, writing, or math computation skills. In additon, we provide family literacy activities, GED preparation, and English as a Second Language. CSC Literacy Coalition uses volunteer tutors to work with adults. Both tutors and students recieve comprehensive support during the learning / tutoring process.

Mission Statement: Provide accessible, quality education in a caring environment by keeping the learner's needs at the center of decision making and by working in partnership with communities of the College district.

Clients of this agency: Students who wish to improve basic literacy skills and who wish to attain their GED in order to enter higher education or the workforce are the 'clients' of the CSC Literacy Coalition.
